The difference matters most on the day something goes wrong. A directory hands you a list and steps back; a broker adds a margin and forwards your email. Metal Market is the supplier of record — you buy from us, we buy from the factory, and the problems that come with a part made seven thousand kilometres away are ours to close out rather than yours to discover.
Finding the shop is the part that takes a procurement team months and costs them the most when it goes wrong. We hold a network of audited Indian manufacturers and match your part to the one whose equipment and experience fit it — not to whoever has capacity free this week.
An engineer reads the drawing before it is quoted, partners are audited before they see it, and parts are inspected against your print before they ship. Every lot travels with material certificates and a dimensional report, and first-article inspection is available on request.
Quotes are DDP — duties paid, freight arranged, delivered to your dock. The number you approve is the landed cost, so nothing arrives later as a separate bill and nothing sits at a port waiting for a form.
What we make
Breadth is the reason a managed network beats a single shop: a product rarely needs one process, and chasing four vendors for four parts of an assembly is where schedules go. These are the processes quoted through the site, and they can be combined on a single request.
There is no fixed minimum order. A single prototype and a production run are both routed to a partner suited to that volume, and for very low quantities we will recommend the process that avoids paying for tooling you do not need yet.
Why India
Landed costs 30 to 50 percent below Western equivalents come from what it costs to run a factory in India rather than from cutting corners on the part. That much is straightforward. The hard part has never been finding a cheaper quote — it has been finding a shop you can trust with a drawing, and then finding out whether you were right at the worst possible moment.
That is the work we do. Partners are audited before they join and re-audited on a cycle; a supply chain manager supervises a new partner's first ten orders; parts are inspected before they ship rather than after they arrive. Metal Market holds AS9100 D and ISO 9001:2015, and across the network parts can be produced to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 and ISO 13485.
